A Totally Different Life

 Ain't that the truth?

My life is so different from 10 years, 20 years, 30 years ago. I'm 53 now which seems way over the halfway mark, if you get my drift.

My Dad died at 65 & that really made me reevaluate EVERYTHING! I went from a high flying business owner with a successful business in Mayfair to a full time student studying a degree in Contemporary Craft at Brighton Uni. Couldn't have be more extreme!!

Extremes! This is what this post is about. I'm a little more cautious about 'Extremes' these days - I'm not slow & steady but my mortality has become of the utmost of importance to me. I want to live as long as possible not for anyone else but for ME! So I try to do everything I can to make this happen.

Back in the day....I really didn't think I'd make it to 30 let alone 40! When I was fast approaching 50 is when I changed my outlook - 3 of my friends died, 2 alcohol related. They both enjoyed a drink but it was actually the 'long term' drinking that affected their health & eventually killed them! A very sobering thought....

Do you ever question your mortality? I used to be a 'live life to the fullest & party hard' kinda girl - I do still party hard but in a totally different way! Trust me, this is possible.

I never thought I'd be any fun or have any fun without a glass of something in my hand - **Newsflash** - I have more fun when I'm out & about than I used to.

Sober dancing was a new concept especially in a field, the BEST about all of it is waking up & being able to remember EVERYTHING without a hangover!!!

  1. What a fantastic post this morning Anna. Thanks for being so open. I love that you wear your heart on your sleeve. X I've not lost people through drink like you have but I've been affected by the impact of heavy drinkers. And the impact I've had on others when I was caning the booze too. You're only ever one comment away from happy drunk to vile drunk. I'm amazed I've made it to 53 too tbh. And now totally enjoy everything about being sociable with a clear head and being fully present. (Pissed people are not actually that fun.)
